화산 폭발로 섬 하나를
일본, 혹시 일본이 부러운 점 있으신가요? 까짓 섬나라, 툭 하면 지진에 해일에 태풍에 화산 폭발에…부러울 것 하나 없습니다만 단 하나. 저는 그 섬들이 부럽더라고요. 도쿄 앞 바다에서 머나먼 북 마리아나 제도 괌 섬에 이르는 기나긴 섬의 행렬. 오가사라와 제도(小笠原諸島 : Ogasawara chain of islands), 이 섬들로 인해 서부 태평양의 상당 부분이 일본의 영해 입니다. 그에 반해 우리 영해는? 그 오가사와라 제도 인근에서 일본은 완전 공짜로 또 섬 하나를 거저 주웠습니다.일본의 영해는 또 그 만큼 넓어졌습니다. 그 해역 바다 속에서 화산이 폭발해 용암이 바다 위로 솟구치고 그 용암이 굳어져 섬이 됐습니다. 가만히 있는데 섬 하나가 그냥 굴러 들어 갔습니다. 그게 그냥 일본 것이라고 합니다. 국제법상 그렇다고 하네요. 일본이 섬 하나를 그저 줍는 모습, 구경이라도 좀 해 볼까요? /옮긴 글

11월 21일 일본 오가사와라 제도 남단의 작은 무인도 니시노시마 섬 해변 가까운 곳에서 해저 화산폭발로 새로운 섬 하나가 생기면서 연기가 피어 오르는 모습. ㅎㅎ 저도 이 사진을 보고 조금은 배아파 하면서 그렇거나 말거나 신기하니까 이거 하나 올려 볼까 하다 그놈의 귀차니즘으로 인해 조금 미루다 보니 온갖 잡 매체에 다 기사가 떴더라고요. 관련기사 : 日 바다 밑 화산 폭발… 지름 200m 섬 생겨 그놈의 게으름 때문에 또 늦었습니다만 그 사실을 모르시는 분들도 제법 있지 않을까 하는 마음에서 쪽팔림을 무릅쓰고 올려 봅니다.

일본의 영해란 배 아플 정도로 광활합니다.
우리 일부의 조상들이 일본인들을 왜놈이라고 놀리며 자기네 백성들만 갈구고 있는 동안 그 왜구들은 자기네 바다를 저렇게 넓혀 갔습니다. 서 태평양의 시퍼런 바다는 거의 전부 일본 바다! 거기서 또 조금을 넓혀다는 거죠. 공짜로, 조상 덕에…. “섬 하나 주웠다, 영해도 그 만큼 주웠다”히히득 거리는 일본 사람들이 부럽네요. 해저 화산폭발로 일본이 섬 하나를 거저 줍는 동영상입니다. /옮긴 글
