Youth is not a time of life－it is a state of mind.

청춘이란 인생의 어느 한 기간을 말하는 것이 아니라 마음의 상태를 말한다. 그것은 장밋빛 뺨, 앵두 같은 입술, 하늘거리는 자태가 아니라 강인한 의지, 풍부한 상상력, 불타는 열정을 말한다. 청춘이란 인생의 깊은 샘물에서 오는 신선한 정신, 유약함을 물리치는 용기, 안지安地 를 뿌리치는 모험심을 의미한다.
This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of the 20.

때로는 20세의 청년보다 60세가 된 사람에게 청춘이 있다. 나이를 먹는다고 해서 우리가 늙는 것이 아니다. 이상을 잃어버릴 때 비로소 늙는 것이다. 세월은 우리의 주름살을 늘게 하지만 열정을 가진 마음을 시들게 하지는 못한다. 고뇌, 의심, 자학, 공포, 실망 이런 것들이 오래 쌓일 때 마음을 시들게 하고 영혼을 초토화하는 것이다.
